Datum Review publishes short, data-based analysis of digital advertising, workplace technology and the economics of attention. The site is organised into two running strands: Briefs, dated single-question analyses, and Datasets, where an original dataset is published alongside the reading of it.
Numbers first, interpretation second
Every brief starts with a number the editorial desk can source and defend. Practitioners quoted in the text supply domain expertise: what a figure means for a specific market or decision, not the figure itself. They do not see the conclusion before it is published. The desk assembles the data and owns the interpretation. Named experts are sources, not authors.
Methodology before conclusions
Where we publish original data, the method is fixed and published before the results are known, not fitted to them afterwards. That includes what is counted, what is excluded, and how it is weighted. We hold third-party research we cite to the same standard. A figure without a stated sample, date and source does not appear on this site. The full rules are in our methodology and editorial standards.
Independence and disclosure
Commercially arranged material is labelled at the point of publication and held to the same evidentiary standard as unpaid work. No arrangement buys approval over findings. See our sponsored content policy. Errors are corrected in the open, not quietly. See corrections.
Datum Review is operated from the United Kingdom. To reach the editorial desk, see contact.
